Dijon City Exploration

Your guide will lead you through the elegant medieval streets of Dijon, revealing the heritage, history, and of course, cuisine, which made it one of Europe’s most beloved cities. Get up close to the striking Palace of the Dukes and Estates of Burgundy, with its regal gothic architecture, and experience the mighty turrets and domes of the Cathédrale Saint-Bénigne de Dijon. Once you have soaked up the sights, you will head up to the top of Tour Philippe le Bon, where you will be treated to stunning views across the entire city.

Burgundy Mustard Mill Workshop and Tasting

Next, you will head to Beaune where it’s time to discover the region’s most iconic export: mustard. An expert will meet you at the 200-year-old Fallot Mustard Mill, and guide you through making your own authentic regional mustard. Learn how the sauce is created, and discover how it has helped shape French cuisine. Finish off by tasting a variety of local mustards, and try your own creation!

Town of Beaune & l’Hôtel-Dieu Visit

After your tasting, you will have the chance to explore one of the most spectacular architectural achievements in France: the Hospices de Beaune. In the 15th century, this gothic masterpiece was used as a hospital for the poor and continued to house patients until 1971. As you wander beneath the pitched ceilings you will catch sight of exquisite murals, depicting dragons and grizzly battle scenes, and discover pharmacy shelves still lined with 18th-century flasks and pill bottles. Afterward, you will enjoy some free time to have lunch and wander in the small town or with your guide.

Truffle Hunting & Tasting

Take a journey into the extraordinary world of truffle hunting, and discover why these curious fungi have captured the attention of foodies all over the world. Explore how dogs are trained to hunt truffles and see the different techniques used to unearth them.
